North Cowichan residents have access to multiple branch libraries including an online eLibrary administered by Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL).

Chemainus Library

Waterwheel Park, 2592 Legion Street, Chemainus

The Chemainus Library is in the heart of downtown Chemainus. The library collection is made up of approximately 10,000 items including books, music, and movies. The branch offers two public computers, a children’s area, a reading space with newspapers and magazines and occasional seasonal programs for adults and children.

Cowichan Library

Island Savings Centre, 2687 James Street, Duncan

The Cowichan Library in Duncan, one of VIRL's busiest branches, offers a range of convenient services for all ages. In addition to 65,000 items, there are public access computers, a meeting room for events and programming, loads of natural light and a choice of seating areas and workspaces to meet your needs.
