Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit

Current Status (August 2, 2017): the acoustical consultant retained by VIMC has been on site this week gathering data about the facility, its surroundings, and vehicles being used, as they work on a noise simulation model. The owners of VIMC (Gain Group) have retained an international acoustical engineering firm to study noise levels coming from VIMC and recommend noise mitigation measures.

The Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit (VIMC) opened in June 2016 on a 46-acre parcel of land on the Cowichan Valley Highway, adjacent to the Municipality's western boundary with the Cowichan Valley Regional District.

Residents in the vicinity of VIMC have expressed concern about noise emanating from the facility. The Municipality has committed to working with the Sahtlam Neighourhood Association (SNA) and VIMC towards noise reduction measures. This page contains background information and status updates from the Municipality.
