BC Summer Games - Public Meeting The Island Savings Centre Commission and the Municipality's Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee are holding a meeting at the Island Savings Centre on Thursday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m. to gauge the level of community support to host the BC Summer Games in either 2016 or 2018. The purpose of the meeting will be to gather input from the public and from sports groups to determine if there is sufficient community support to apply for and successfully stage the BC Summer Games. Kitchen Organics Collection Begins in May 2012 North Cowichan is expanding your curbside collection to include Kitchen Organics. Weekly Kitchen Organics Collection begins in May when the new collection schedule takes effect. In April, containers with start-up kits will be delivered to all residences receiving curbside service from the municipality, and Open Houses will be held with staff on hand to answer your questions.
