Home Owner Grant

We encourage residents to claim their Home Owner Grant online, and to pay property taxes using online or phone banking. Alternatively, you can mail us a cheque (details below). Cheques can also be securely dropped off, in person, in the drop-box at the main entrance to Municipal Hall. The Home Owner Grant program is a Provincial Government program designed to help homeowners with their property taxes. Please contact Home Owner Grant Administration for eligibility requirements.
If you are eligible for the Home Owner Grant, you must claim it each year. Once you determine which grant amount you are eligible for, choose one of the following methods to claim your grant:
- CLAIM YOUR GRANT ONLINE, or;
- Complete and sign the application at the bottom of your tax notice or fill out and print this form [PDF - 248 KB] and then return it to the drop-box at the Municipal Hall or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note: Whichever method you choose to claim your grant, your application must be submitted by the close of business on September 30th. You do not have to make a payment at the same time in order to claim your grant.
If you are eligible for the Home Owner Grant and your taxes are paid by your mortgage company, you are still required to complete and forward the application to our office by the tax due date to avoid a penalty on the grant amount.
