August 2017: This project is on hold for the time being.

This will be a 950 m long, 3 m wide stand-alone multi-use network connection. It will permit bidirectional shared lanes with signage directing users to share the trail between cyclists and pedestrians.

Signage will be installed at the Stamps & Lakes and Bazett & Maple Bay intersections noting “Rural Bike Route”. This project will connect the Maple Bay community to the broader bike network via Lakes Road south to the City of Duncan; and north to Herd Road, connecting to the Trans Canada Trail network via the Richards Trail/Westholme Road route; and east to the future Osborne Bay Road route to Crofton.
