Election Signage

Although the District of North Cowichan’s Sign Bylaw does not regulate when an election (campaign) sign may be displayed, it does require that they be removed within 7 days after the general local election (by October 22, 2022).

Candidates should confirm that they are permitted to post a campaign sign before installing to ensure:

  • That they are not contravening a provincial act, regulation or policy; or
  • Damaging municipal infrastructure; or
  • Creating a safety hazard for vehicles and pedestrians.

Please visit the Campaign Signs webpage to learn more about election signage.
