Municipal Archive
Incorporated in 1873, North Cowichan is one of the oldest municipalities in British Columbia. North Cowichan's Municipal Archives was established in 1998, in celebration of North Cowichan's 125th birthday. The archives serve as a valuable repository for those interested in researching North Cowichan's historical records regarding:

Mandate
The mandate of the North Cowichan Municipal Archives is to:
- maintain the institutional memory of the Municipality of North Cowichan by identifying and preserving its archival records;
- encourage understanding of the municipality's origins and development, by providing controlled public access to its archival records;
- ensure the efficient management, preservation, and accessibility of information to support its ongoing municipal functions; and
- operate in accordance with accepted archival principles and techniques for appraisal, arrangement, description, storage, and preservation.

7030 Trans Canada Highway, North Cowichan, BC, on Vancouver Island, mid way between Victoria and Nanaimo.
