Energy Saving for Lower Income Households

BC Hydro and Fortis BC are helping customers save! If you are a BC Hydro customer and living in a low-income household you may be eligible to receive a FREE Energy Saving Kit (valued at $75) from BC Hydro and FortisBC. Apply online or call 1-877-431-9463.
In partnership with BC Hydro Power Smart and FortisBC, the Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) provides qualified lower-income BC Hydro and FortisBC residential account holders with free:
- personalized home energy evaluations
- installation of energy saving products by a qualified contractor
- personalized energy efficiency advice to help you create a more comfortable home for your family
This program provides both renters and home owners, with a home energy evaluation and the installation of energy saving products. Learn more about this program.
North Cowichans Climate Action and Energy Plan includes measures to reduce the communitys existing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, and identifies future trends in energy and GHG emissions based on population, land use, technology, and other factors. These programs with BC Hydro and FortisBC will allow members of the community to take part in achieving North Cowichans reduction targets.
