North Cowichan Municipal Council is looking for volunteers to serve on three committees:
The Agricultural Advisory Committee advises Council on ways to oversee implementation of North Cowichan's Strategic Agricultural Plan; assist local agricultural organizations; promote public awareness of agriculture, its role and economic importance; and consider land uses in or abutting agricultural land.
The Community Planning Advisory Committee advises Council on land use, heritage conservation, and community planning issues.
The Environmental Advisory Committee advises Council on ways to comply with the BC Climate Action Charter, provides stewardship of North Cowichan's ecological assets, fosters North Cowichan's environmental well-being, addresses climate change and environmental issues, promotes public awareness of climate change and the environment through communication and educational opportunities, and reviews potential environmental problems and issues that may have an impact on the community.
Meetings are generally held monthly, during regular office hours, at North Cowichan Municipal Hall, and are usually approximately 1 to 3 hours in length.
