Crofton Local Area Plan Update
July 7, 2015
Thank you to everyone who attended the Crofton Local Area Plan public open house on June 9, 2015. A summary of the responses to the questionnaires distributed at the open house has now been prepared, entitled Heres What You Said, and has been posted on our website. To view the summary, and the project information to date, please visitwww.northcowichan.ca/CroftonLAP.
A public hearing is now scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the North Cowichan Municipal Hall. Council will hear from staff and the public regarding Bylaw 3579, Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw (No. 2), 2015, which proposes to reduce the Crofton growth centre by realigning the Urban Containment Boundary, and reducing the size of the mixed-use commercial core area.
Immediately following the public hearing, Council will consider whether to give second and third readings to, and to adopt, Bylaw 3579. If Bylaw 3579 is adopted, this will ensure that the changes proposed in the Crofton Local Area Plan are consistent with North Cowichans Official Community Plan. Council will then consider whether to give second and third readings to Bylaw 3580, being the Crofton Local Area Plan Bylaw.
If you would like to provide input, but are unable to attend the public hearing, you may email Council email@example.com, or you can send your comments by fax to 250.746.3133, before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Your submission will become part of the public record.
