EMBC - Phase 3 Flood Protection Works: Traffic Advisory For Rosewood Avenue and Brier Avenue
October 19, 2015
The Municipality of North Cowichan will be carrying out construction of a dike south of Rosewood in order to provide flood protection to some residences along Rosewood Avenue. This construction is expected to take place over a period of 17 weeks and began on October 19, 2015.
Initially most of the work will involve clearing and grubbing the area where the dike will be constructed. Starting around October 26 residents may observe heavy equipment and trucks running along Brier Avenue and Rosewood Avenue. We ask for your patience during this time.
The Municipality strongly advises that traffic and pedestrians slow down and exercise caution with consideration to the heavy equipment/extra traffic in the area during the construction phase.
The normal hours of work for this construction/increase in traffic will be 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. The Municipality reserves the right to alter the hours of work to suit conditions. Due to the presence of construction traffic, and for safety reasons, please do not park vehicles on the roadway during this time.
We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. Please contact us at 250.746.3128 email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
