NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS
2016 PROPERTY TAX NOTICES
Property tax notices have been mailed. If you have not received your 2016 tax notice, please contact the Municipal Hall at 250.746.3100. Payments must be received by 4:30 p.m. July 4, 2016, to avoid a late penalty. All unpaid 2016 taxes (including unclaimed home owner grants) are subject to a 10% PENALTY AFTER JULY 4, 2016.
NOTE: It is not necessary to make a payment in order to claim the home owner grant. To avoid a 10% penalty on the home owner grant amount, it must be claimed online, in person, or received by mail before 4:30 p.m. July 4, 2016.
HOW TO PAY YOUR PROPERTY TAXES:Mail in your payment and/or home owner grant form to the address below. Cheques may be postdated for July 4, 2016.Internet or telephone banking through your financial institution. (Must be set up with your financial institution in advance of payment).In person at the Municipal Hall, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding the July 1 Canada Day statutory holiday), or in the drop box at the Municipal Hall.

Home owners who are 55 years or older, a surviving spouse, or a person with disabilities may be eligible to defer payment of their property taxes under the Property Tax Deferment Program. Further information and application forms are available at North Cowichan Municipal Hall.
