Business Licence Renewals - Are you open for business?
December 4, 2017
North Cowichan's 2018 Business Licence Invoices will be sent in the mail by the end of January. If you have closed, sold, moved your business, or changed your business phone, mailing or email address, you need to notify the Municipality as soon as possible. You can notify us by email (firstname.lastname@example.org), phone (250.746.3100), or in person at Municipal Hall (7030 Trans-Canada Highway, Duncan).
If your 2018 Business Licence Invoice is not paid by March 1, 2018 you will be subject to a penalty of $25, and if your 2018 Business Licence Invoice is not paid your business will not be licenced and you could be subject to a $200 fine daily.
If you do not notify the Municipality that your business has closed or been sold and the fee is not paid, the account will continue to show outstanding.
A Business Licence is not issued until the fees are paid.
Business Licences ensure that municipal land use regulations and parking regulations, building and fire codes, health regulations, and all other relevant community safety requirements are adhered to by business operators.
Mobile Food Vending Business Licences are not renewable. A mobile food vendor must submit a completed application with the supporting documentation each year that they wish to operate.
