Chlorination Continues for North Cowichan's South End Water System
October 20, 2017
Residents connected to North Cowichans South End Water System may continue to notice a slight chlorine odour and taste in their water. As a condition for lifting last months boil water advisory, Island Health required the Municipality to continue chlorinating the water pending further consultation with Island Health.
The Municipality has set the chlorination level consistent with provincial guidelines.
North Cowichans South End Water System is one of the few remaining systems in BC that does not chlorinate. North Cowichans other two water systems in Chemainus and Crofton are both chlorinated, and have been for many years.
