Request for Proposals issued for Bell McKinnon Local Area Plan
November 15, 2017
A request for proposals (RFP) has been issued seeking proposals from qualified consultants to undertake a Local Area Plan for the Bell McKinnon neighbourhood. The RFP closes on November 28, 2017, and the neighbourhood planning process is anticipated to kick off immediately in the New Year.
The Local Area Plan will engage residents and the broader community in developing a vision for the Bell McKinnon area in the context of the proposed future Cowichan District Hospital. The plan will address a wide range of topics, including land-use designations, density and design principles to guide future growth, and transportation and infrastructure requirements.
This Local Area Plan has been requested by residents of the area for many years, and Council has allocated funds for this process in the 2017-2018 budget.
For more information, you can read the RFP (which lists objectives and deliverables of the Local Area Plan) here.
