Storm Response Updates

JAN 2 UPDATE:

Parks, Trails, and Forestry Areas
Most parks, trails and forestry areas are open following the windstorm. Please be aware that we will have crews/contractors in our parks over the next few weeks working on clearing trails, and this work will include the use of chainsaws and brush saws to clear pathways and remove hazardous trees/limbs.We ask that the public continue to use extreme caution in parks, trails and forestry areas. To report downed trees or safety issues, call 250-746-3106 between 8:30-4:00 OR 250-748-5112 outside these hours. In case of emergency, call 911.

Please note that the Regina Drive to Lakes Road Trail and the Daniel Street Stairs are closed.

Debris Disposal
Please remember that debris from the storm should not be burned. We are not currently within an open burning window and burning outside of designated windows can be detrimental to the region's air quality. Instead, debris can be taken for free to a regional waste disposal facility (list of facilities and their hours here: https://www.cvrd.bc.ca/2966/Depots-Hours
