North Cowichan Appoints New Director of Development Services

Kyle Young has been appointed the Director of Development Services, effective immediately. 

Mr. Young has been employed at North Cowichan since 2014, most recently as the Assistant Manager of Planning & Subdivision, and previously as a Planner. Prior to joining North Cowichan, Kyle was a Planning and Development Officer at the City of Salmon Arm for almost three years.  He holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Environmental Management from the University of Sasketchewan and an undergraduate degree in Planning from the University of Northern British Columbia. Mr. Young is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is a Registered Professional Planner. 

The Director of Development Services plays an important role in local government. The Director leads and oversees a wide range of portfolios, including current and long-range planning, land-use approvals, building permit and inspection services, and bylaw enforcement.
