Beach Advisories Lifted
July 20, 2021
The “Swimming Not Recommended” Advisories issued on July 9, 2021 for Fuller Lake Beach, Maple Bay Beach, and Kinsmen Beach Park, have been rescinded effective immediately by Island Health.
Recent tests (two subsequent independent water samples) have shown bacteriological counts well within acceptable limits in the water. Signs posted on site at these beaches are being removed.
Island Health, with support from North Cowichan, will continue to perform water testing, and you can find more information about beach advisories, including frequently asked questions, on their website: https://www.islandhealth.ca/learn-about-health/environment/recreational-water-beach-reports or by calling 250-737-2010.
