Budget 2022: Draft business plans and projects available for comment
November 19, 2021
(North Cowichan, BC) – North Cowichan staff are finalizing business plans and related budgets for the 2022 operating year. Residents are invited to learn more about projects planned next year and the draft budget, and to share comments.
“Budgets are one of the most important things Council does. We rely on feedback from residents about what projects are important, and how we should prioritize our resources in terms of meeting the expectations of the community,” says Mayor Al Siebring. “I encourage everyone to read the materials on our website, learn what is planned, and share their comments.”
Draft budget documents are available at northcowichan.ca/budget and will be shared with Council at the November 23 and November 30 Committee of the Whole meetings. Comments on the 2022 budget or capital and operating plans can be shared by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Feedback can also be shared through the Budget 2022 topic on PlaceSpeak, the municipality’s online engagement platform.
Feedback will be considered by Council as the 2022 budget develops over the next few months, before final adoption next February.
