Outdoor Aquatics Return to North Cowichan this Summer
June 17, 2021
(North Cowichan, BC) – Lifeguard services at Fuller Lake Park and the Crofton Outdoor Pool are set to reopen in the coming weeks for the 2021 summer season. Both services were not offered in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health restrictions.
Fuller Lake Park will have lifeguards on-site daily from noon to 6:00 p.m. starting June 25 through to August 29. The Crofton Outdoor Pool will open on July 2 and offer various drop-in opportunities on Tuesdays through Saturdays and will be closed Sundays and Mondays. The Crofton Pool will be open until August 21.
“We are incredibly pleased to be able to offer these much-loved services for residents this summer,” said Mayor Al Siebring. “2020 was a tough year, and it feels so good to be slowly getting back to “normal”. While the Crofton Pool will be open, please be aware that some days will have reduced hours due to an industry-wide lifeguard shortage. As the summer progresses, the hours may be extended if additional staffing is secured.”
