Council Matters for April 25, 2022

Council met for just nine minutes during our Special Council meeting on April 25, 2022. Here is what transpired during the meeting.

The Official Community Plan Bylaw that received first reading on April 20 was rescinded and re-read. Due to an administrative error, four pre-existing Local Area Plans and two Comprehensive Development Plans referenced in the bylaw were not attached in full. As well, Council was asked to consider the proposed plan in conjunction with the 2022 Fire-Year Financial Plan, and the Cowichan Valley Regional District’s Solid Waste Management Plan, and the Central Sector Liquid Waste Management Plan.

The next steps remain unchanged and on the same schedule with staff reporting to Council on options for arranging a public hearing, which is expected later this year.

The next Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m.

Thank you for reading and staying informed!
