Notice of First Nations Relations Committee Meeting

Notice is given that a First Nations Relations Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., in Council Chambers, 7030 Trans Canada Highway, Duncan, BC.  The Committee meeting is being held to consider the following:

(1)  Review First Nations Relations Committee Terms of Reference

(2)  National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30)

(3)  Implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action

(4)  Holding an in camera meeting, which will be closed to the public under the following sections of the Community Charter:

  • 90(1)(f) law enforcement, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the conduct of an investigation under or enforcement of an enactment
  • 90(1)(m) a matter that, under another enactment, that being s 22(1) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, is such that the public may be excluded from the meeting; and
  • 90(2)(b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party

Anyone wishing to attend the proceedings may do so in person at Municipal Hall, 7030 Trans Canada Highway, Duncan, BC.
