June is Recreation and Parks Month!

June is Recreation and Parks Month! Put on by the BC Recreation and Parks Association, the goal of this month is to get out in nature and reap the health and wellness benefits of spending time outdoors.

North Cowichan’s Recreation and Parks departments, alongside the Communications team, has put together a month-long event to encourage people to spend more time in nature and explore the beautiful parks we have here in North Cowichan by participating in a photo odyssey on the Municipality of North Cowichan Instagram.

Starting June 1, there will be ten photo topics posted on the @north_cowichan Instagram that we want you to photograph and share on your profile. You’ll need to tag North Cowichan’s account and use the hashtag #northcowichanparks to be reposted on our profile and be entered to win a North Cowichan 150th anniversary edition prize pack. The goal is to take at least one photo of each topic before June 30.

Don’t have Instagram? No problem. Email your photos to communications@northcowichan.ca to participate in the challenge.

The winner will be announced July 3.

Happy snapping!
