Building Services is responsible for various services related to construction and development in the municipality. Key functions of the department include:
- Comprehensive plan reviews and issuance of building permits
- Building and plumbing inspections, as prescribed in the Building Bylaw
- Response to public inquiries regarding construction standards and regulations
- Facilitation of access to property-related documents and permits, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This can include:
- building permit
- occupancy certificate
- survey certificate (if not registered on title)
- house plans
