Your taxes, utility bills, business licences, bylaw tickets, and dog licences are payable online through most banks, trust companies and credit unions in Canada.

To add North Cowichan as a payee in online banking, navigate to ‘payments,’ and then ‘add/delete payees.’ Select ‘add payee,’ and enter ‘North Cowichan’ into the search. You will be able to select from some variation of the following payees:

  • North Cowichan, District – Taxes

Important: When you move

Utility and tax accounts are linked to specific addresses. If you’ve been using online banking to pay North Cowichan utility and tax bills, you will need to delete the tax or utility account linked to your old address and create a new tax or utility payee linked to your new address.

To do this, sign into your online banking, navigate to ‘pay bills,’ and then ‘add/delete payees.’ Locate the North Cowichan payee with the account number corresponding with your old address (you can confirm this by looking on an old tax or utility bill or by signing into MyMuni) and delete that. Select ‘add payee,’ and enter ‘North Cowichan’ into the search. Select ‘North Cowichan – Taxes’ or ‘North Cowichan – Water Utility,’ then enter the account number found on your new tax or utility bill. You will need two separate payees for tax and utility payments through online banking.
