NOTICE IS GIVEN that the District of North Cowichan, pursuant to sections 24, 26 and 94 of the Community Charter, intends to dispose of land that is not being made available to the public for acquisition and grant assistance by disposing of the above-mentioned land below market value.
The licensed area is a portion of 6002 Canada Avenue (approximately 89 m2 shown outlined in dark black on the map below), legally described as Lot 7, Plan 12658 (PID: 007-724-284), is proposed to be licenced to Cowichan Women Against Violence Society, to be used for a green-space garden area, including bike storage, shed and fence, via a licence of occupation for a term of 5 years with the option to extend for an additional 5 years for the consideration of the sum of ten dollars ($10) to be paid to the District of North Cowichan.
Council will consider this proposed licence of occupation at their August 16, 2023 regular meeting at 5:00 p.m. This meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format, in person in Council Chambers and electronically through the Cisco Webex platform.
This notice is given as required by Sections 24 and 26 of the Community Charter.
