Public Notice - Seeking Members for the Board of Variance

North Cowichan is requesting applications for five (5) volunteer positions on North Cowichan’s Board of Variance. Board of Variance members are appointed by Council for a 3-year term, beginning March 16, 2025.

The Board of Variance is an independent body that makes decisions on applications for minor development variances where compliance with regulations would cause undue hardship.

Who should volunteer? Knowledge or experience related to land use planning, building, or engineering would be beneficial and typical candidates are retired building contractors, land surveyors, realtors, architects, and civil engineers.
