The swim advisory at Maple Bay boat launch has been lifted by Island Health.

Island Health test results for this testing location can be viewed at https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/island-health/water-sample-history/?permitID=BE4B9879-00B4-4583-90D8-522A67E8C799

Due to poor water quality, swimming at Maple Bay boat launch is not recommended. Island Health conducts regular water sample testing at public beaches and pools, and once tests indicate water quality is within acceptable levels, the advisory will be lifted.

More information about the testing results can be found on the Vancouver Island Health Authority water quality testing page.

Note: this swim advisory is for the boat launch area, which is tested separately from Maple Bay Beach (approx 100m north of the boat launch). The most recent Maple Bay Beach sampling results do not indicate a swim advisory for that section of the beach.
