Notice is hereby given, pursuant to sections 26 and 94 of the Community Charter, that the Municipality of North Cowichan intends to dispose of land by way of a number of Statutory Right of Ways (“SRWs”), Easements and Covenants (collectively, the “Encumbrances”) to the Municipality of North Cowichan.
The Municipality is working with the Community Land Trust to develop 92 units of affordable housing at 3191 Sherman Road. As part of the development approvals process, the Municipality needs to ensure future access, drainage, and other rights are secured on title.
The land to be disposed of includes those parts of 3253 Sherman Rd, legally described as Lot 1, Section 1, Range 4, Somenos District, Plan 18897 (PID: 003-809-471), and those parts of 3191 Sherman Rd, legally described as Lots A & B, Section 1, Range 4, Somenos District, Plan 18897 (previously Lot 2, PID: 003-809-510), shown as “SRW,” “Easement,” and “Covenant” on Subdivision Plan EPP129564 below. The consideration to be received by the Municipality for the disposition is $1 for each Encumbrance.
