North Cowichan is excited to announce the completion of the new Crofton Fire Hall and invites community members to join the celebration at a grand opening and open house on Saturday, May 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The new Fire Hall replaces part of the original facility, built in 1964, which was in need of seismic upgrades and repairs. The new 3,600-square-foot building includes space for firefighter training, administration, and equipment storage, addressing long-standing safety and functionality concerns, and is expected to serve the community for decades to come.

The grand opening and open house will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Crofton Fire Hall (1681 Robert Street). Everyone is welcome to attend. The event will include:

  • A ribbon-cutting ceremony and speeches
  • Guided tours of the new building
  • Hot dogs, cake, and light refreshments
