North Cowichan will begin work to replace a section of water main along Cowichan Lake Road between Skinner Road and Kimberley Drive starting Monday, March 16 (weather permitting). The project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete and will be carried out in two phases.
Phase one of construction will take place on Skinner Road and includes the closure of Skinner Road at Cowichan Lake Road from March 16 – 23, Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5:00pm. A detour will be in place to access the neighbourhood via Glenn Fields Road.
Phase two begins March 23 on Cowichan Lake Road between Skinner and Kimberley. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place on Cowichan Lake Road for the duration of phase two between 7:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The work is expected to be completed by May 4.
Residents and road users will experience traffic delays and temporary interruptions during construction hours. Choosing alternate routes, if possible, is recommended.
