Status

Location
2876 Fuller Lake Rd (between Fuller Lake Arena and the Trans-Canada Highway)

Timeframe
  • 2023
    • Madrone Environmental Services completed an ecological assessment to identify any sensitive ecosystems within the course design. They concluded there were no sensitive ecosystems in the study area to be protected.
    • A wildfire hazard assessment concluded that the area has a moderate fuel assessment rating and the development of the disc golf course improved fire suppression because constructing the course offered improved sightlines, created gaps in vegetation, and improved overall access for fire suppression.

    • Summer: removal of dangerous trees and vegetation clearing and trimming which will continue throughout the summer.
    • Late summer/early fall: tee pad construction and installation of disc golf baskets

$30,000 - $35,000

Project led by
INdesign Disc Golf leading the design, in partnership with the Cowichan Valley Disc Golf Club (CVDGC) and North Cowichan.

Description
Fuller Lake disc golf course is a new park under construction. INdesign Disc Golf leads the 18-hole disc golf course design in partnership with the Cowichan Valley Disc Golf Club (CVDGC).

The CVDGC is directly involved with the course design as well as providing in-kind contributions such as hosting volunteer days and providing materials and labour towards the disc golf course construction which greatly reduces the overall anticipated costs.

The course will be designed in two phases, with phase one (shown below) located west of the arena and phase two to the south.
