Notice is hereby given under Section 494 (1) of the Local Government Act by the Director of Planning and Building that the Municipality proposes to consider the issuance of a Temporary Use Permit.

The Director of Planning, Building, and Environmental Services will consider whether to approve the issuance of the proposed permit at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the Municipal Hall, 7030 Trans-Canada Highway, North Cowichan, BC.

The purpose of the Temporary Use Permit is to allow the registered owners of  5753 Menzies Road, legally described as: That Part of Section 17, Range 1, Quamichan District Lying to The North of Plan 5037 and to The East of Menzies Road as said road is shown on Plan 638R Except Part in Plan 6901 and Except Part Outlined in Red and Marked ‘B’ on Plan 521 BL (PID: 009-648-941), to reside in an existing 88m2 additional dwelling while a new 90m2 additional dwelling is constructed.

If you believe your interests in land will be affected by the proposed permit, you are invited to submit your comments in writing to the attention of Amanda J. Young, Director of Planning and Building by 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Please refer to the instructions provided below and select one of the following methods to submit your comments.
