North Cowichan has developed a new Economic Development Action Plan that guides economic and business direction over the next several years. This action plan outlines our opportunities and challenges, and prioritize goals to help us realize a more welcoming municipality for economic prosperity.
The Economic Development Action Plan is organized around five priorities:

- Support the adaptation and resilience of traditional industries
- Nurture the growth of emerging economic opportunities
- Continue building an attractive sense of place
- Support the widespread adoption of regenerative economic principles
