Art Mann Park

North Cowichan is upgrading Art Mann playground beginning late June 2024.

The municipality has an ongoing maintenance process to upgrade playgrounds as they naturally age out. 

The upgrades will include the latest and greatest playground equipment for children of all abilities and will feature enhanced CSA certified safety features.

Some of these include:

•  improved safety clearances,
•  better grips,
•  textured vinyl equipment coating, 
• improved clamp designs, 
• stronger material with more longevity, 
• safety rails etc.

New accessible engineered wood fiber surfacing will be installed, along with an additional rubberized pathway that enhance the accessibility for children of all abilities. 

The new playground design also features enhanced accessibility and inclusion features that include imaginary play, independence, active motion, and graduated complexity. 

The budget for this upgrade is $196k.
