The new North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Detachment at 6430 Ford Road is now home to a newly created Forensic Identification Services Unit, South Island Traffic services, Victim Services, and our regular members and police support staff.

This state-of-the-art building was constructed on municipally owned land and is expected to meet the needs of the community and policing for the next 50 years.
The project was approved by Council in 2020 following an Alternative Approval Process (AAP). The existing detachment building was well past its serviceable life and was originally slated for replacement in 2012.
The total estimated budget for the project is $49.03 million, with North Cowichan funding 40% of the total cost and the RCMP funding 60%.
