North Cowichan's 3-on-3 co-ed hockey league is back for the 2026 season!
The league will operate from March 31 – May 17, 2026, with 9 guaranteed games. The season ends with a spring wrap up tournament on May 16 & 17!
There are four age divisions (same as minor hockey divisions); U9, U11, U13, U15.
Games are played on the full ice surface; each team will have 3 players and 1 goalie on the ice at a time. Games have a referee and volunteer coaches.
Players will build their skills, enjoy a fast-paced and creative style of play, boost their conditioning, and connect with new friends. Each player must wear a full set of hockey gear and should have some experience in hockey.
All games take place at Fuller Lake Arena, 2876 Fuller Lake Rd in Chemainus.
Games take place between March 31 – May 17, schedules will vary from week to week. Game days are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesday or Thursdays between 5:00pm - 9:15pm. Game schedules are dependent on league registration.
After the registration period is complete, players/parents will be emailed their team schedules.
Each age division will have 4-6 teams and is guaranteed 9 games, depending on the number of registered players per age division.
U9 – birth year 2017/2018
U11 - birth year 2015/2016
U13 - birth year 2013/2014
U15 – birth year 2011/2012

Regular registration
Register between February 14 - March 13, 2026 for regular fees of:
At Fuller Lake Arena 2876 Fuller Lake Rd, Chemainus, BC or at Cowichan Aquatic Centre 2653 James St, North Cowichan, BC.
Players will register as individuals with a self-rank of skill level during the registration process.
Teams will be made as equal as possible and may be switched during the season.
When the registration period is completed, participants will be contacted regarding team placement, schedules, and liability waivers the week of March 16, 2026.
All players and skill levels are welcome; teams may be comprised of boys and girls. Teams will have a maximum of 10 players (9 skaters and 1 goalie), 4-6 teams per age division.
Refunds will not be granted due to players missing games.
The gameplay is 2 x 22-minute run-time periods, a 2-minute warm-up, 2-minute intermission break between periods.
Full players change every 2 minutes, alerted by the arena horn.
All players must wear full equipment.
All players must wear league-provided jerseys.
Face-offs only at the start of the periods.
No contact.
No penalties, but penalty shots may be awarded.
Team standings and individual player stats will not be kept.
Referees provided, coaches on a volunteer basis.
We are hiring BC Hockey-qualified Referees for this new 3-on-3 youth hockey league.
Referees are paid $33/game. Referees are to enforce the gameplay rules, which will be provided during a training session before the league begins.

We are looking for volunteer coaches for the 3-on-3 youth hockey league.
No coaching experience or special certifications are needed; anyone can coach a team. Coaches have to be willing to help organize your team and have some fun. Hockey or coaching experience an asset.
