Stage 1 Water Restrictions in Effect May 1

Stage 1 water restrictions are in effect from May 1 to October 31 every year, and increase to stage 2, 3, 4, as required. Watering maximums (hours per day) are based on the type of watering system your household uses. Watering is permitted on your designated day, except between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Stage 1

Conventional watering systems (irrigation systems and sprinklers):

During stage 1, conventional watering (irrigations systems and sprinklers) is permitted on a household's designated days for a maximum of:

  • 2 hours: Lawns, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, flower gardens
    • Even addresses: Wednesday and Saturday
    • Odd addresses: Thursday and Sunday
  • 2 hours: New lawns

Hand watering, micro/drip irrigation:

During stage 1, hand watering or micro/drip irrigation is permitted for a maximum of:

  • 4 hours/day: Vegetable gardens, fruit trees
  • 2 hours/day: Ornamental trees, shrubs, flower gardens
  • 2 hours/day: Lawns
  • 2 hours/day: New lawns
