Attending a Virtual Meeting

You can attend Council meetings and have your say in the Public Input and Question Period portion of the agenda in person or electronically.

For best results, test your system in advance of the meeting by following the instructions below. Only audio (microphone and speakers or headset) will be needed to participate. We encourage you to join by Computer Desktop or Mobile Device (smartphone or tablet) to view the meeting, but you may also join by Telephone to hear the meeting. You will have an opportunity to participate by voice in either case.

Connect with a Computer Desktop

Test your computer's capabilities before the meeting

  1. Go to webex.com/downloads to download and install Webex
  2. Go to webex.com/test-meeting to test your speakers and microphone
  3. Further instructions are available on the Webex Help Center:

    2. Join a Test Meeting
    3. Join a webinar

Join the meeting

  1. Click on the Meeting Link under the Upcoming Meetings section at the top of this page to open the Webinar
  2. Enter your name and email address 
  3. Click on the Join Now button
    1. If you're having trouble installing the app or if you prefer not to install anything, click Join from your browser to use the web app
  4. If prompted, install any plugins or extensions
  5. You will be automatically muted upon entry into the meeting
  6. To speak during Public Input or Question Period, you can raise your hand by clicking on the hand icon in the Meeting Controls at the bottom of the screen
  7. When it is your turn to speak, you will be unmuted and announced by the meeting coordinator
    1. Attendees cannot unmute themselves or turn on their video
  8. When finished, press Mute and the hand icon again to lower your hand

Connect with a Smartphone/Tablet

Install and Test Cisco Webex Meetings on a Mobile Device

  1. Download the Cisco Webex Meetings mobile app from Apple App Store or Google Play
  2. Go to webex.com/test-meeting to test your speakers and microphone

Join the meeting

  1. Click on the Meeting Link under the Upcoming Meetings section at the top of this page to open the Webinar
  2. If prompted, choose to open in app
  3. Enter your name and email address, then tap Next
  4. Tap Join to enter the webinar
  5. You will be automatically muted upon entry into the meeting
  6. To speak during Public Input or Question Period, you can raise your hand by pressing the ellipsis (...) icon, then Raise Hand

  7. When it is your turn to speak, you will be unmuted and announced by the meeting coordinator
    1. Attendees cannot unmute themselves or turn on their video
  8. When finished, press Mute and the hand icon again to lower your hand

Connect by Telephone

If you are unable to connect by computer, smartphone or tablet, you can also call in by telephone to hear and participate in the meeting.

  1. Dial the toll-free number: 1-844-426-4405
  2. Choose your preferred language (press 1 for English)
  3. When prompted for access code/meeting number, enter the Meeting Number listed in the Upcoming Meetings section at the top of this page
  4. For the Attendee ID number, press 1111
  5. You will not hear anything until the meeting starts - there is no hold music
  6. You will be automatically muted upon entry into the meeting
  7. Press *3 to raise your hand if you would like to speak during Public Input or Question Period
  8. When it is your turn to speak, you will hear the meeting coordinator state that the next caller is a telephone caller, followed by the system saying "You are unmuted"
