Curbside voting is available at all voting locations on advance voting and general voting days.
Curbside voting is available to voters who are unable or prefer not to enter the voting place. Election officials will meet voters at an accessible location outside the voting location and assist them through the voting process.
Wait times to vote curbside may vary depending on voter turnout and election activity at the voting location. Election officials will assist curbside voters as promptly as possible while ensuring all voting procedures are followed.
How to vote curbside
Option 1: send someone inside at a voting location
If you are accompanied by a friend, family member, caregiver, or support person, they can let an election official know that you have arrived and would like to vote curbside.
Option 2: call the elections office
Once you arrive at a voting location, call 250-746-3131 to let us know that you have arrived and would like to vote curbside.
For either option, election officials will come to your location and assist you with the voting process.
The curbside voting process
- An election official will verify your identity and voter eligibility.
- You will receive a ballot and pen.
- You will mark your ballot privately.
- The completed ballot will be returned to the election official.
- Your ballot is kept secret and will be securely deposited and processed in the same manner as all other ballots cast at the voting place.
